Today I have a super fun manicure to share with you all from the lovely Olivia from Never Ending Nails, while I am away on holiday! I'll let Olivia explain the rest:
Hello everyone! First of all, my name is Olivia and I run a little blog called Never Ending Nails. It's my space on the Internet where I write about new polish that I've bought, nail art that I've created, and sometimes, I let you in on how I did it! Secondly, I want to say a big thank you to Kerrie for letting me do a guest post. Her blog is so fabulous, and it's a privilege to have my nail art shown on here!
Now, I know that a lot of people already know about cartoon nail art, but I wanted to share with you how I do mine.
Can you see why I called it candy-coloured cartoon nail art? Haha!
For this nail art, I used Barry M's Grapefruit Gelly, because it's a super bright pink with an amazing shine. I also used an unbranded black nail art pen and the white Barry M nail art pen.
First of all, I used the brush in the black nail art pen to paint two coats of black polish on to each nail.
When this had fully dried, I used the Grapefruit Gelly to paint on the bright centre. I made sure to leave the black outline, as on any good cartoon, everything is outlined! I did two coats of the pink polish to get the full brightness.
Last of all, I drew on a curved exclamation mark with the white nail art pen. This is the light reflection, giving you that final touch to the crazy, cartoon effect!
To make this even better, and more 'fake' looking, I suggest using a matte top coat. It would take off the shine that a regular top coat would give you, and would look amazing!
This is a great look that anyone could pull off! It would be especially great for a fancy dress party if you were going as a cartoon character.
Thank you for reading my post, and I hope you enjoyed it! Thank you once again to Kerrie for having me on her blog!
Thank you so much for this Olivia, this looks so easy that I have to give this a try myself! I want to do multi coloured skittle cartoon nails! As always please show Olivia some love and give her a comment or pop over to her blog and say hi!
