My base colour is two coats of Revlon Rain Forest, a dark green jelly polish full of yummy green glitter, to replace the Christmas tree. I then used one coat of I <3 NP's Babes in Toyland. This is a topcoat glitter made up of pink, green, fuschia, blue and gold glitters. It reminds me of OPI Rainbow Connection but more thought out and precise.
Babes in Toyland is a very versatile polish, I have seen it layered over white, black and purple as well and each time it looks stunning. Over the dark (almost black) green polish the glitter really does pop! I love the fact the pink glitters are actually circular, they look like baubles and the blue aqua glitter are cute sqaures! I think it's great that a little bit more thought has been put into this polish. I wish my Christmas Tree could look this good.
I must do a quick mention of the packaging here, I have never received an 'indie' polish that arrived looking so professional.
Isn't the box just uber cute?
Also the lid has a rubber finish, which I love as it adds that extra bit of grip.
Application wise, this polish is great, there is no 'fishing' for glitter, I used the dabbing method here to create random coverage in one coat but you could easily build it up with a second coat. I purposely wanted the green 'tree' to be easily seen underneath. Also this polish dries very smooth even without topcoat. I added one coat of Seche Vite just to get that trade-mark shine.
I really love those pink circles! This really is a fun Christmas manicure, but this polish could easily be used over other colours that could be worn at any time. I can't wait to skittle this polish over some neons!
I have a couple more polishes to show you from I <3 NP later, in the mean time you should go look at the wonderful Barbra's Facebook page! You can purchase a 12ml bottle for $10 (did I mention they are also completely 3 Free?) and you can purchase from her Etsy shop.
