Skeleton Key is a mixture of violet, black and white hex and shard glitter in a clear base. This is a much thinner polish than the others that I have tried in her collection and is a layering or top coat polish but you could easily wear it alone if you used about three coats. As it is I decided to layer it over Barry M Grey. This photo shows one coat.
I would really love to see what this polish looks like over a variety of other base coats. I am thinking maybe a light purple would look cute. The glitter coverage with this polish is great for one coat, there was no fishing and plenty of glitter on the brush. Like Marley which I showed you yesterday I found the best way to apply this was by dabbing the polish instead of swiping it on. I used one coat of Seche Vite here but it was still a little bumpy, so I would suggest doubling on the top coat or adding some Gelous if you like your polishes completely smooth (I have a tendency to pick them off if they are not!)
I love the contrast between the flashes of vivid purple and the monotone black and white, it makes this polish seem really fun and interesting. You all know what a big fan I am of Glitzology anyway so there is no need for me to re-hash it here for you all, but this polish really is super. I know a few purple lovers who will no doubt need to add this to their collection.
