The theme for this weeks BFF Challenge was cities and I remember thinking how cool this idea was. But in theory it was nasty. With nubbins like mine I couldn't do a city scape or anything really city related. I felt like I would have to accept defeat with this manicure until this program came on:
For those of you not in the UK (or for those of you who are but have a life) Eastenders is a soap opera set in the East End of London (hence the name!). If you want to know more about it check out the wikipedia page.
Admittedly I used to love this show and last night I had a eureka moment when I heard the ominous "DUN DUN DERDUN DUN DUNDUN" of it's title sequence (it really is a dramatic sound if you haven't heard it before).
So here is my attempt at Eastenders nail art:
To create the effect of all the buildings in the background I used Maybelline Racing Green and then topped with Kolt Craquelado, a Brazilian brand of crackle nail polish in the colour Minimalista which is a dark gun metal metallic crackle. I then sploged on small random dots of Barry M White Crackle.
The blue squiggle is actually the Rover Thames which was painted using Barry M Cobalt Blue.
I have to laugh at some of the things I have ended up doing in the pursuit of nail art challenges...
Don't forget to check out the others ladies much better manicures!
Until next time!
